Selection basis of explosion proof solenoid valve

The selection of explosion-proof solenoid valves should first follow the four principles of safety, reliability, applicability and economy in turn. Secondly, the selection should be based on six aspects of on-site working conditions (i.e. pipeline parameters, fluid parameters, pressure parameters, electrical parameters, mode of operation, special requirements).

   Selection of piping parameters

According to the pipeline parameters, the size of the explosion-proof solenoid valve (DN) and interface mode are selected.


1, determine the diameter (DN) size according to the size of the pipe inner diameter or the flow requirement.


2, interface mode, general >DN50 to choose flange interface, less than DN50 can be freely selected according to user needs.

  Selection of fluid parameters

Select material and temperature group of explosion-proof solenoid valve according to fluid parameters.


1. Corrosive fluids: corrosion-resistant solenoid valves and stainless steel should be selected; food-grade stainless steel solenoid valves should be selected for super-clean fluids.


2. High temperature fluid: The solenoid valve made of high temperature resistant electrical material and sealing material should be selected, and the piston structure type should be chosen.


3. Fluid state: large to gaseous, liquid or mixed state, especially when the caliber is larger than DN25 order must be distinguished.


4. Fluid Viscosity: Usually under 50CST can be chosen arbitrarily, if exceeding this value, high viscosity solenoid valve should be selected.

  Selection according to pressure parameter

Selecting the principle and structure variety of explosion-proof solenoid valve based on pressure parameters


1. Nominal pressure: This parameter has the same meaning as other general valves and is determined according to the nominal pressure of the pipeline.


2. Work pressure: If the work pressure is low, the principle of direct or step-by-step direct operation must be selected; when the minimum working pressure difference is above 0.04 MPA, the direct, step-by-step direct operation and pilot type can be selected.

Electrical selection

Voltage specifications should be selected as AC220V, AC110V, DC24V and DC12V as far as possible.


Normally closed, often open, or unsustainable power.


2, if the opening time is short or the time of opening and closing is not enough, then the normally closed type is chosen


3. However, some working conditions used for safety protection, such as furnace and kiln flame monitoring, can not be normally opened, and long-term power-on type should be selected.

  Auxiliary function

Explosion proof, check, manual, waterproof fog, water spray, diving.


1. Explosive environment: the corresponding explosion-proof electromagnetic valves must be selected (our company currently has: D II BT4, D II CT5, EX M I/II T4).


2. When there is backflow in the pipe, we can choose my PATRON ZS-15 series solenoid valve with check function.


3. When it is necessary to operate solenoid valves manually on site, we can choose our ZS-50 series solenoid valves with manual function from PATRON Company.


4, outdoor installation or dust occasions should choose waterproof and dust-proof varieties (protection level is above IP54).


5. For ZCST fountain, submersible solenoid valve must be used (protection level is above IP68).


1. When the solenoid valve needs to be opened for a long time, and lasts for a long time, the time of surplus closure should be chosen as the normal open type.
